It was Merida's R & D target, to develop a really unique suspension concept for cross-country racing, marathons and long distance tours. Merida has just pushed bicycle suspension technology to the limit with the introduction of its new LRS system (Low Ratio Suspension).

Merida developed lightweight magnesium frames for both road and mountain bikes. After more than 2 years of R & D, Merida is now able to bring these frames to the market.

"Handmade" has always been synonymous with quality. Merida has changed this concept being the first company in the world to develop the robot welded system to produce aluminium and magnesium frames. Human hands may be skilful, but the test results reveal that Merida's "robot welded" system consistently makes more reliable frames.

Merida's Advanced Shotgun Tubing Technology along with its TIG welding Technology System, used in the production of Merida aluminium bikes, is now being applied to Merida's Magnesium lightweight series. The most important function of a tube section is its ability to disperse and absorb the stresses placed upon it from riding.

The Merida Cycling Team works closely and constantly with our product developers and engineers in an effort to continually improve our bikes´ performance. You may know that the majority of quality Mountain Bikes come from Taiwan.
