3T is a venerable Italian brand with a long history and tradition of performance and innovation.

Everything began with a tube. A simple, plain, steel tube that young Mario Dedioniggi bent in the Ambrosio factory (the same one that’s still manufacturing remarkable rims today). In the 1950’s, making bicycle handlebars was not such a big deal: there were no special shapes, no morphological bending radius. Just a bending machine, a mould, a tube filled with sand and the power of the worker’s arms.

Dedioniggi was a skilled worker, and a clever one. After ten years at Ambrosio, he decided he was ready to start his own business. In 1961 he hired a worker, bought a big three room warehouse in Turin and a bending machine: this is how the pompously named “Tecnologia del Tubo Torinese” (Turin Tube Technology) factory was born (and immediately abbreviated to an easier TTT or 3TTT).

In a time when everything related to bicycles was made out of steel, Dedioniggi knew the future was aluminium. So, he started producing bike components with the top existing technologies, experimenting on new alloys and handlebar shapes. He also diversified the product line. In 1970, 3TTT’s Al7075 ski poles were top sellers all over Europe, and their leather bicycle saddles were renowned for being the lightest as well as superbly crafted.

However it was his skill in making handlebars that gained fame for 3TTT. Mario Dedioniggi’s simple intuition changed the world of bicycle handlebars: from the first Al7075 handlebar, to the first time trial handlebar the 51’151” (after Moser’s record).

At the peak of 3TTT’s success Dedioniggi retired selling the company. New managers entered the firm and continued 3T’s commitment to R&D and kept on investing while following Dedioniggi’s spirit: simple, performing, hi-tech. The name changed to 3T (the result of an employee’s misspelling).

3T handlebars, stems and related components became celebrated all over the world. We kept on innovating, working on new shapes to enhance the comfort of the riders, and on new materials that would provide better performance and weight advantages. Our achievements were crowned in 1999 when 3T’s Mutant stem was recognized with the I.D. International Design Award, becoming the first bike stem to ever receive such a prize.

Our roots are in the engineering and design of bicycle parts and our expertise is constantly applied to provide the most demanding racer with the high performance you expect from 3T.

3T’s success is based on our Experience. Our focus on safety is a prerequisite for all our products. We understand that as times have changed, so has the bicycle and cyclists’ needs. With massive investments in engineering and design, we have completely redesigned our model range to meet those needs. We trust you will find that the new 3T range fits your needs and desires. The New 3T, Ultimate Performance.

Latest - Our big news to kick off the 2008 season is our deal to sponsor ProTour Team CSC. We’re proud that the world’s number-one professional cycling team is putting its trust in 3T components. Team owner Bjarne Riis personally selected 3T equipment, describing the new VENTUS aerobar as ‘fantastic’. That’s quite a compliment from Bjarne, who is famed for his close attention to every detail of team equipment

"AEROBARS"

VENTUS

With the thinnest wings, minimalist brake levers and aerodynamically integrated stem, the VENTUS is not only, the lightest and most aero integrated aerobar in the world, it is also the first to have independent height-adjustability. After all, we want to fit the bike to the rider, not the other way round. That is why on the VENTUS, the extensions  move up and down with the  elbow pads instead of being attached to the wing. This way, the position of your elbows relative to your hands will not change when you raise or lower the aerobars. With its co-moulded carbon construction and integrated yet replaceable grips and your choice of extensions, the VENTUS  sets the new standard in aerobar design.

"DROP BARS"

ROTUNDO

The past 30 years have seen a plethora of new dropbar shapes, but the majority of the pros still ride with the pro bend, the shape 3T pioneered in the 80’s. The pro bend shape has endured because it offers the rider a sense of control not found in most other shapes.

The
ROTUNDO follows in that tradition. However, while the shape may be traditional, the ROTUNDO is anything but, featuring the lightest & strongest bar ever in this shape. The construction of the ROTUNDO, while passing the industry’s most stringent tests, provide the best combination of tradition and innovation, that equals the ultimate performance.

ERGOSUM

If the ROTUNDO shape is a little too aggressive for you, the ERGOSUM is the answer. Unlike standard “anatomic” bars, the ERGOSUM bar, offers a smooth continuous bend to keep the hand comfortable no matter where in the drops you grip.

Of particular note is the revolutionary QuickBend upper curve feature where you mount your shift/brake lever. Thanks to the very tight curvature, the rider can adjust the orientation of the lever over a wide range of angles without having to move the lever far down the drop as is usually required. Rotation without translation - a small, simple idea.

ERGONOVA

The ERGONOVA is setting a new standard in comfort riding. This flattop bar with continuous top surface and asymmetric 'egg shaped' section that rolls smoothly from horizontal to vertical leading the palms naturally onto the brake hoods and into the Ergonomic drop.

Simple in its shape, it does perfectly what it needs to do: provide ultimate comfort to the rider in any position, without jeopardizing performance. The ERGONOVA, which comes in PRO and TEAM, is fully clip on compatible, where the arms will rest nicely onto the flat part of the bar. With sizes starting from 38 cc, it is also the prefect fit for the smaller riders.

ERGONOVA: the new standard in ergonomics.

Latin for stronghold and bridge, the ARX TEAM is our new design for the perfect connection between fork and handlebar. We paid particular attention to the design of the clamps that hold the fork steerer and handlebar. Nowadays both are often made of carbon, which is susceptible to localized pressure of such clamps. As we feel that even the toughest CEN and DIN standards do not provide sufficient safeguards against such issues, we have performed additional 3T-designed tests to be absolutely sure. We have even tested our stem with many of our competitors’ bars to ensure your safety and compatibility. By choosing forging to manufacture the ARX TEAM, we align the aluminum grain structure for optimal strength, while the Titanium bolt package brings the weight down to less than 120g.

"SEAT POST"

DORIC

Just like the columns of the old Greeks, we have designed the DORIC to withstand the test of time. As a model of clean and minimalist design, naming this seatpost after the most basic type of column was a natural. Its compliant shaft absorbs the road shocks while its simple yet secure saddle clamps keep a tight grip on your saddle. The two-bolt design allows you to adjust the saddle angle to any position while the smart combination of materials makes for a very low weight.

"FORK"

FUNDA

Instead of a regular fork's blades, we designed, together with the aerodynamic leaders in the industry, the FUNDA with a distinctly different (asymmetric) airfoil for the blade where it is near the rim, and a symmetric shape further down where it is not affected by the wheel.

Together, it forms a package that will slingshot you to the front of the pack
